Generon IGS is a division of Innovative Gas Systems (IGS). IGS is a global technology company that specializes in systems that produce industrial gases; Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Process Gas Separations including Natural Gas, CO2, H2S, SF6 and many more. IGS has operating facilities in addition to its US facilities, in Germany, Italy, Russia, China, and the Middle East.
Nitrogen Technologies:
Generon utilizes two technologies for the Separation of Nitrogen Gas from compressed air streams:
Nitrogen hollow fiber membrane module separators - The base technology was developed in the mid 70’s by Dow Chemical and the company Generon was formed in the early nineties to commercialize and market the technology. Generon is one of only four companies that has the manufacturing capabilities to manufacture its Hollow Fiber Membrane Separators
Nitrogen Pressure Swing Adsorption - This technology utilizes a pressure sensitive adsorbing material to produce Nitrogen to very high purities.
Compression Products:
Generon has developed a full line of compression products to complement its Nitrogen Technologies. This was a natural progression for the company, as each of its Nitrogen products require compressed air as its raw material.
Instrument Air Dryers:
Membrane Air Dehydration - Building on its technology base as one of the world’s largest producers of Nitrogen Membrane Separators, Generon IGS has developed an innovative new technology at its Pittsburg, California R&D facility for the removal of water from compressed air streams. The Membrane dryer technology is a simple robust product offering point source dew point suppression.
Twin Tower Dryers – Generon, building on its extensive knowledge of building thousands of PSAs, developed a line of instrument air dryers utilizing two alternating beds to dry the compressed air to exact customer specifications. The Twin Tower Dryers are marketed to major oil companies and EPCs where the standard industrial dryers will not hold up to the harsh environments in the off shore oil and gas applications.
Air and Nitrogen Compression - Generon has developed extensive packaging expertise for reciprocating and screw compressors driven with natural gas engines, diesel engines or electric motors. The packaging of these products can be done to meet exact customer specifications. Packages delivering up to 9,000 psig have been produced.
