Dead Bolt Anchor Company provides a unique door frame protection/reinforcement device, the Dead Bolt Anchor Plate. This product is a cost effective solution to making wooden frames the strength of steel. The Dead Bolt Anchor plate completes the dead bolt security system. It is an alternative to security strike plates which allows home owners to have the strength of steel without the look of steel.
The Dead Bolt Anchor Plate is a 4-3/8" X 12" plate of cold rolled steel that has a steel pocket that projects upward from the plate. The steel pocket extends through the frame to just behind the dead bolt strike plate. Instead of the typical strike plate to provide support the dead bolt latch, the dead bolt latch extends into the steel pocket when locked. The steel pocket protects the frame and transfers the entry force to the wall studs. 3 3" screws are used to secure the frame and Dead Bolt Anchor Plate to the center of the wall studs. The Dead Bolt Anchor Plate is powder coated to provide corrosion protection. This product is perfect for door plant applications, however it can be retrofitted to existing door installations.
The Dead Bolt Anchor Plate meets the standard of ASTM F476-84 Grade 40 and is patented under U.S Patents 4865370 and 5024475.
